With more than half of the campaign left to go and having already met the Kickstarter goal we had set for ourselves, we were trying to come up with some ideas to keep the momentum going. After all, it's not just about raising enough money to print the book, but also about spreading the word and growing awareness that there will soon be a kids Armenian book out there - ready and available for infant and toddler consumption.

It's 25 hours after I launched this campaign and with the help of 59 backers, the goal has been met! Ուրախ Խոզուկը - The Happy Piggy is going to print!!!!It goes without saying that this would not have been possible if it wasn't for the support of backers, and so many people who have spread the word, encouraging participation and generating interest. I sincerely thank you all, so much.
One week from now I’ll be launching a Kickstarter to fund the Armenian children’s book I’ve been working on for the last six months. Since July I’ve been building the Kickstarter page, preparing my video, and coming up with some fun rewards for you all to purchase while you support this initiative to provide our children with Armenian language tools that they can start using as soon as they learn how to use the power of their hands.
When I first became pregnant with my now almost 20 month old, people would ask me whether I would be teaching her the Armenian language. For me the question seemed ridiculous, because I’m fluent and simply, ‘why wouldn’t I’? Then during my pregnancy — and even now — it was a futile search to find Armenian books that compared to English kids’ books when it came to style, tone, illustration, and appropriateness for age.
So I decided to write an Armenian kids’ book myself. Between raising an active toddler, starting my own marketing consultancy, and supporting my husband’s new business (shameless plugs for laveh.com and littlemscrate.com), I’ve been working on making my first Armenian board book a reality. |
